About this product
You may not have thought it possible, but there is something even more decadent than Beef Bacon, and that something is this. Our Lamb Bacon is made from the richly marbled bellies of our Shenandoah valley pastured lamb, which are naturally cured and then smoked. You'll notice a gentle lamb flavor to this product that will make it irresistible!
At Grow & Behold, we raise our kosher lamb on pasture and brush in the Shenandoah Valley, where they are free to roam and graze as they please. Serve this wonderful lamb bacon at any meal, or just eat it right out of the pan. Keep frozen until use; open packages can be stored, tightly sealed, for 3-5 days in the refrigerator.
Basic Cooking Technique:
Lay pieces in a single layer in a cold frying pan, and heat gently over low heat. When the pan starts to get hot, cover with a splatter guard. Cook until most of the fat has rendered out, turning every few minutes. When golden brown (watch that they don't burn), remove pieces to a paper-towel-lined plate and let cool. They will crisp up as they cool (but they may also get eaten by passers by...you've been warned).

So good. Salty and sweet. Sweeter than the beef bacon but really good.
I was expecting a smoky flavor. What I got was overly spicy and overly sweet. The only way I would order this again, is RAW. I have been smoke-cooking Kosher meat and fowl for nearly 60 years & I am certain I could improve. They tasted like Kosher beef fry or bacon substitute. I would like to try with veal belly.
One of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Honestly, ridiculously good. The slicing isn’t the best but holy god that flavor is incredible
When I opened the package there were 4 strips and the rest were bits and pieces. I also found this product a bit spicy for a "bacon" type food. The flavor was very good however.
First time ever trying lamb bacon and I am truly impressed! Thank you for such great eats.
Tastes great but the pieces are so small and thin it’s like a bunch of of scraps. Would be better if slices were thicker and packaged flat not in a frozen ball where it breaks apart if you’re not careful enough. Taste is 5 stars but slicing and packaging are 2 points
This was our first time having lamb bacon. It was tasty. Some things that would have earned it 5 stars would be to use more smoke and leave out the pastrami spices, which overwhelmed the flavor. The bacon came out of the packaging as a pile of fragments. Slicing it a little thicker and packaging as flat strips would make it hold together better.
I never had Lamb bacon before and was skeptical about trying it. Absolutely delicious and not salty like pork bacon - LOVE IT!!!
The first time we had this, it was OUTSTANDING. Perfectly meaty crispy 'bacon'-y morsels. Since then, it's been a game of catch up. There's enough variation between batches to make it hit or miss; the misses are disappointingly meh, but the hits are so good that I'll still take a chance and add a couple packs to my orders.
Packs & Weights
Our frozen meats are packaged in vacuum-sealed packages. Most packages contain one piece (ie, one Brisket). Some packages will contain two pieces (ie, Lamb Chops). Packages of smaller items, such as Chicken Wings or Pepper Steak, will contain multiple pieces.
For red meat items and multi-pack poultry items, vacuum-sealed packages may be packed in a cardboard box. If there is an option to choose how many packages you'd like in the box, you'll make that selection under "Number of Packages". Then you'll choose the total weight of the box (that is, the combined weight of all the the packages in that box). If only one choice is showing in a green box, you do not need to make any selection.
Example: Lamb Chops
Let's say you're ordering Lamb Chops and you select the following:
You've chosen: 2 packs, ~1.1lbs, and the price shows as $39.99.
You’ll receive 1 box, with 2 packages of lamb chops inside. The whole thing will weigh approximately ~1.1lbs and will cost $39.99.
Each package will contain 2 lamb chops, and weigh approximately .65lbs.
You’ll have 4 lamb chops in total. Each will weigh approximately .35lbs (note that some may be slightly larger and some slightly smaller).
Weight Ranges & Prices
To keep our fulfillment system practical and manageable, products with variable weights are sold in a weight range (this includes most frozen meats, with the exception of deli meats, sausages and beef jerky). We keep the ranges as small as practically possible to minimize the variation you might receive. If a price/lb is shown with a *, it is an estimate for comparison purposes only, since the price associated with each weight is the price for all items within that weight range.
This chart shows the weight ranges for all our products:
|less than 0.99lb||0.05lb|
|1lb - 2.19lb||0.1lb|
|2.2lb - 2.74lb||0.30lb|
|2.75lb - 10.24lb||0.25lb|
