About this cut
These thick-cut steaks (1.5"-2") are loaded with flavor (beefier than ribeye), well-marbled and have a satisfying texture to them. Can be sliced to serve a crowd, or serve smaller steaks one per person. They pack some of the best flavor on the whole steer -- which is why they are Anna's favorite steak! Good to know: Chuck steaks are variable in proportions -- they're cut from a group of 4 muscles, whose size and shape vary from steer to steer.
Other names for this cut: Club Steak
Basic Cooking Technique:
Sear over high heat, then finish using indirect heat. May also be broiled. Tent with foil and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. Chuck steaks are a great choice for a rub or an acidic marinade.
Products are packed with coolant during their journey to ensure they arrive in great shape. Meats will arrive frozen or refrigerated. Most of our products are shipped frozen; occasionally, due to a very quick turnaround between when the meats arrive at our freezing and distribution facility and when they are delivered to you, meats may be shipped fresh. Meat that is cold to the touch can be refrigerated for immediate use, or frozen for later use. Learn more.

The meat came frozen and we grilled them. They were tender and flavorful! We enjoyed them so much!
Listen. I've been a G&B customer for... 8 years? more? And I think this is the first review I've written. Not because everything I've had before now hasn't been amazing because it has been! But. I'm tempted to lie about these steaks so they will be here when i want them. But I won't. Because they are amazing. I literally went to bed on Shabbos dreaming of having more cold for shaleshudis and even cold fantastic. Just fantastic. I went with a reverse sear method and it was beefy, juicy, and perfect. I do recommend carmelizing onions in duck schmaltz to go with them, you won't be sorry. Thank you Naf and Anna and your incredible team. These steaks are aces.
My wife and I grilled this steak it’s one of the best ever. Nice and tender. We also had the Denver steak also this is also a great steak. Will be ordering more.
For my money, this is one of the three most delicious steaks that G and B sells (the other two are the Denver steak and the crescent steak), and these are by far cheaper than the other two rivals.
These steaks are simply delicious. I used to think that the Denver steaks were the best, but these beat even those gems, and they are suitable for a meal for one person!
This is the best cut of meat so far it become our favorite !!! super tasty and super soft it melts in your mouth !!!
I would have to rate Chuck Steak the best value for quality and flavor. Their the perfect amount of fat to add fantastic flavor and tenderness to the meat. Can be used for a family dinner as well as a special occasion meal. I love it seasoned and cooked to 135 degrees Let sit for 5 -7 min and it’s perfect
Move over ribeyes. As billed, this steak is every bit as tender and more boldly flavored at a fraction of the price. I'm stocking up on my next order!
We have this steak every Friday night. It may be the most humble of your steaks but we prefer to the others we've tried. My husband treats it with meat tenderizer on one side and Montreal steak seasoning on the other and grills it. It's delicious!
How Many Pieces Will I Receive?
Our frozen meats are packaged in vacuum-sealed packages. Most packages contain one piece (ie, one Brisket). Some packages will contain two pieces (ie, Lamb Chops). Packages of smaller items, such as Chicken Wings or Pepper Steak, will contain multiple pieces.
For red meat items and multi-pack poultry items, vacuum-sealed packages may be packed in a cardboard box. If there is an option to choose how many packages you'd like in the box, you'll make that selection under "Customize Your Order." Then you'll choose your preferred weight (that is, the combined weight of all the the packages in that box.) If only one choice is showing in a green box, you do not need to make any selection.
Example: Lamb Chops
Let's say you're ordering Lamb Chops and you select the following:
You've chosen: 2 packages, ~1.1 lb, and the price shows $39.99.
You’ll receive 1 box, with 2 packages of lamb chops inside.
Each package will contain 2 lamb chops. You’ll have 4 lamb chops in total. We always try to pack similar-sized items, but you may find that some chops are slightly larger and some are slightly smaller.
How Much Does It Weigh?
We use weight ranges in order to keep our fulfillment system practical and manageable for items with variable weights (for example steaks. Packages of deli meats which are not sold by weight range as we can pack them by exact weight). The ranges are as small as practically possible to minimize the variation between the Selected Weight and the actual weght you receive. Because of this, if the price per pound is shown as "price/lb*", the *" indicates that it is an estimate for comparison purposes only, since the price associated with the selected weight is the price for all items within that weight range.
This chart shows the potential weight variance for selected weights on our site:
|Selected Weight||Potential Weight Variance|
|under ~0.95 lb||+/- 0.05 lb|
|~1 lb to ~2.1 lb||+/- 0.1 lb|
|~2.2 lb to ~2.7 lb||+/- 0.3 lb|
|~2.9 lb to ~10 lb||+/- 0.25 lb|
|~10.5 lb to ~19.5 lb||+/- 0.5 lb|
|over ~20 lb||+/- 1 lb|
- An item with a Selected Weight of ~1.5 lb could weigh as much as 1.6 lb or as little as 1.4 lb
- An item with a Selected Weight of ~3 lb could weigh as much as 3.25 lb or as little as 2.75 lb
We keep the ranges as small as practically possible to minimize the variation you might receive. Sometimes you will receive a bit more than the listed weight, and sometimes a bit less. Our customers find that on average they receive what they are expecting. But if you find that your actual weights in an order are all below the listed average, please snap a picture of the weight labels and send it over to us, and we'll be happy to make things right.
